Legal Agribusiness: Sustainability in the Commodity Chain
Project summary
Project support which aims to mobilize and assist the activities of the State Prosecution Services which work in the MATOPIBA region – Brazil (Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia) and Mato Grosso do Sul – Brazil to implement environmental responsibility in the agribusiness commodity chain in these states.
The guiding principle of the project is to help the agribusiness and business sector in the search for a chain of suppliers (rural properties) in which there is no illegal deforested areas or other socio-environmental violations. The project focuses the Cerrado biome and builds on a concrete experience they have developed previously with World Wildlife Fund.
