29/04/2026

The Accountability Accelerator is delighted to welcome two new members to its Advisory Board.

Alice de Moraes Amorim Vogas is Programs Director at the COP30 Presidency under Brazil’s Federal Government. Previously, she led the Extraordinary Advisory Unit for COP30 at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. She began her career as a lawyer and has over a decade of experience in international and sustainable development across civil society, academia, and philanthropy. Before government, she was Director of Partnerships and Communications at iCS and Chair of the Foundations 20 Platform. A Humboldt Chancellor Fellow, she worked with Deputy Lisa Badum in the German Parliament and served as Senior Climate Lead at WINGS, coordinating the global #PhilanthropyForClimate movement. She holds a Law degree from UERJ and an MSc from LSE.

Joan Carling is an Indigenous leader and environmental defender with decades of experience advocating for Indigenous Peoples’ rights, land protection, and climate justice across local to international platforms. She currently serves as Executive Director of Indigenous Peoples Rights International (IPRI) and has held roles including Secretary-General of the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact and as a UN Permanent Forum expert member. In recognition of her lifelong advocacy, she received the UN Environment’s Champions of the Earth Lifetime Achievement Award (2018) and the Right Livelihood Award (2024).

Alice Amorim said: “Having spent my career advancing climate and nature solutions, I am deeply committed to scaling implementation and harnessing the knowledge, collective power, and tools already at our disposal. The Accountability Accelerator’s work is vital to this effort, as robust, socially grounded accountability is essential not only to close the gap between ambition and action, but also to build public trust, and sustain the long-term stability needed for transformative change. I am delighted to be joining at such a critical moment.”

Joan Carling said: “Indigenous voices must be at the heart of efforts to build a nature-positive world – shaping solutions, demanding accountability, and driving impact where it matters most. The Accountability Accelerator plays a critical role in supporting Indigenous people and local communities globally, and I am honoured to join its Advisory Board.”

Natasha Matic, Executive Director of the Accountability Accelerator, said: “We are delighted to welcome Alice and Joan to the Accountability Accelerator’s Board. Each brings tremendous experience across climate and nature at both regional and global levels. Their ability to build consensus and foster collaboration across diverse stakeholders, as well as their experience living and working in the Global South, will be invaluable as we work to drive systems-level change.”

Alice and Joan join Board members Sue Armstrong Brown, Jenni Black, Mark Gough, Heather Grady, Greg Hilditch, Cate Lamb, Komala Ramachandra, Eva Zabey and Bowen Zhang.

The Accountability Accelerator is a re-granter, system orchestrator, and target validation body driving corporate accountability and action for nature. We work to strengthen the accountability ecosystem for nature, by aligning actors, mapping efforts, identifying gaps, and channeling resources toward capacity, innovation, and impact.
